A quick and easy card for you this week, using the gorgeous paper and stamps from the 

My Mind's Eye Kate and Co. OXFORD LANE 6 x 6 paper pad

and the 

My Mind's Eye Kate and Co. OXFORD LANE Stamp Set

I cut my base card to size and using a corner punch rounded the outer corners. Next I then covered it with  the fine strip paper which was cut a fraction smaller than the base card, also rounding the outer corners. I then distressed the edges using a blue ink pad. I then layered up the band for the front of the card, the lovely gingham paper and a couple of plain contrasting papers from my own stash. I cut the words using my Cuttlebug and a die. Then stamped and hand cut the telephone out and mounted it onto 3D foam.

Fanned Flower Card

Hiya crafty friends,

I found this cut file for this flower on the Silhouette store and fell for it. I loved how it looked and the dimension it gave. It is slightly fiddly but still simple to do, but I think it is well worth it in the end.

This is how I made the flower.

First I cut out 15 of the perforated circles from a sheet of Prima's Believe 6x6 paper pad

And I folded it as follows:

I then covered a small square of card with some adhesive and began to place and stick each of the folded circles beside each other, which begins to form the flower.

 This is how it looks on the back

 And once all 15 are placed together and the top 'petel' are pushed down they form a fantastic flower

It finish it I placed a large brad in the centre and added a flat back pearl.

 

I embossed the backing with Embossalicious Folders -DOTTIE A4 folder

Tri-Fold Birthday

Good morning everyone

Mel here and sadly this will be my last Design Team post for Clare Curd Crafts, I want to thank everyone for their support and those who left me amazing comments to boost my confidence! And thanks to Clare for giving me the chance!

Now this week I created a lil tri-fold card

I took an A4 sheet of card and folded it twice to form my 3 panels, then taking those delish Fancy Pants What a Wonderful Day Collection, I decorated the panels on the front and the back. I added some ribbon to the panels too

I then took the utterly FAB Little Darlings Saturated Canary images and coloured them with markers, cutting them out and layering on the card with nestie ovals

I decorated the rest of the card with bunting I made from the scraps of the paper and twine for the front adding card candi to each one. Added gems and punched butterflies before finishing with lots of Mulberry Flowers, pins with seed beads and then of course glitter. The back I also added a text panel to write your little message, a birthday verse and then a die-cut butterfly to match everything in

I loves a bit of Swagger

The Swagger paper collection that is. 

And that is exactly what I used for this weeks make.

The front of my card I folded back on itself and then applied my choice of paper to the front flap and inside the card.

I then worked on the 'topper' of the card, layering papers and inking the edges. 

I cut some banner shapes to match in with the piece I used with the rub on word. The other elements I've used are also from the rub on pack, adhered to card, cut out and mounted onto 3D foam.

Clare has some great new stuff in the shop so why not stop by.

Origami Lily Tutorial

Hiya Craft friends,

I've done a little tutorial for you today on how to make this cute little lily. The paper I have used is taken from the Prima -  Believe 6x6 paper pad available at Clare Curd Crafts.

Fig 1. Starting with a square piece of  paper, no smaller than 20cm, as this could be too fiddly for your first attempt. Place your chosen paper pattern side down, fold the paper in half both ways diagonally, horizontally and vertically to make a star as in the picture shown below.  Make sure all of your creases are sharp to make folding the Lily easier using your bone card folder.

Fig 2. Fold the paper (right side out) into a triangle using the crease lines as a guide, then push one of the sides into the centre of the triangle and repeat with the other side until you have the shape shown in the picture below. 

Fig 3.  Making sure that the open edges are pointing upwards, then take one of the sides and fold to the centre crease line and repeat with the other side too. Now flip the whole thing over and repeat.

Unfold the them all, which will leave a crease line

Fig 4.  Take one of the folded side edges and slip your finger into it as shown in the pic below. Then press the flap down. You should have formed what looks like a kite with a white tips. Repeat the other 3 flaps and you will get the result as shown below...

Notice how there are now 8 sides to the model; some of the sides look like the picture below (with white tip) and other sides show the patterned paper tips.

Fig 5.  Ensure the a white tip side is facing upwards and fold the whole shape in half and make a sharp crease then unfold.  This crease line will help later on.

Fold the side edge into the centre crease as shown, repeat with the other side, and open them out again

slip your finger into the pocket and using the side creaslines as a guide pull down, so that everything is aligned on the centre crease line, push the small resulting triangle upward and back down again to form a  crease line. Repeat this with the other 3 white tips sides.

Fig 8. With the plain side (with no folds or flaps) facing up, and the open  tip open edges are facing away from you fold one of the side edges into the centre crease-line and repeat with the other side,  repeat this step with the other 3 plain sides.

This should be the result.

Fig 9. Pull one of the petals downwards as shown in the pic below and then repeat with three petals.

Fig 10. Take a pencil and curl the edge of each petals to make them more lifelike as shown below.
