To construct the album I took 6 pieces of white card measuring 4 x 12 inches, I then folded each one in half at 6 inches, making six 6x4 inch pieces. Then all I did was stick each piece back to back with another one, creating 12 inner pages. To re-inforce the covers I stuck a 6x4 inch piece of card to the front and back. To cover the spine and make the book look neater I scored a piece of 4 x 2 5/8 inch card at 1 inch , 1 1/8 inches, 1 1/4 inches, 1 3/8, 1 1/2, 1 5/8 inches leaving a inch piece at either end which I stuck to the front and back covers.
To decorate the front cover I simply cut out the piece in the bottom left hand corner from another sheet of paper and stuck it on top of the blue patterned paper (love the wood effect). I then cut some banner shapes from matching paper and threaded them together using some cream twine. All the edges of the papers have been coloured with my pumice stone ink pad:
I'll be back next week to show you the inside!
